Xmas Giveaway, Day 4: Item 8

Item 8 in the Christmas Giveaway is a graphic novel, Serenity: Those Left Behind by Joss Whedon, Brett Matthews and Will Conrad. It's the first of the graphic novels to bridge the gap between the TV show Firefly and the film Serenity. I'm giving this one away simply because we managed to buy two back in the day, and we only really need one.

See the crew of Serenity coming to life again in this beautifully drawn story. Would recommend this one to fellow Browncoats, because if you've not seen the brilliant TV series, or indeed the most excellent film, it probably won't make much sense. Here's what it says on the back:

Here's how it is - in a universe filled with hearts and minds as cold and dark as the reaches of space, one small Firefly-class starship named Serenity takes its ragtag crew of mercenaries, outlaws and fugitives in search of a job, any job, that'll earn them enough cash to afford that most elusive commodity - peace.

Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, unveils a previously unknown chapter in the lives of his favorite band of space brigands in this prequel to the Serenity feature film - the blockbuster follow-up to Whedon's cult-hit TV show Firefly.

Giveaway closes at some point during 27 December 2011. Winner will be chosen at random and contacted and with a bit of luck, has responded with some form of contact details so I can send it when the post office opens again on the 28th.

Remember, I need to be able to contact you and get your postal address if you win, so if you're not on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter or any other way of getting in touch, it will be hard to let you know you've won, and so on, so in order to be in with a chance of winning, add some kind of contact details and answer the following qualifying question: Who's your favourite Serenity crew member and why?

This giveaway is open worldwide.

Good luck! Santa's bag is opening again tomorrow at 3 pm, UK time.

  1. Oh, no, please don't make me choose one. I really love them all, they're such an amazing and diverse crew. But if I had to choose one (and it will be very hard) I would say Mal. <3

Thank you so much for this giveaway! I've always wanted to read the graphic novels but never had the chance.

    Happy Holidays!

  2. I know, it's nearly impossible to choose. I love them all, but particularly Kaylee and Mal. Mal's got that rebel thing going on, and gosh darnit, that works. Also, he's of course played by Nathan Fillion, which ALWAYS works! ;)
