Xmas Giveaway, Day 3: Item 6

Item 6 in the Christmas Giveaway is a book (have you spotted the pattern yet?): Whisper of Scandal by Nicola Cornick, which I gave a 3.9 out of 5 in July 2011, when it was released, and this is my review copy up for grabs. :)

See what you make of it! I'd love it if you post a review of it somewhere to help Nicola spread the word. :)

One whisper of scandal and a reputation dies…

Lady Joanna Ware is the darling of the Ton, a society hostess who has put behind her the misery of her unhappy marriage to a philanderer. Until her late husband bequeaths to her joint care of his illegitimate child…

Alexander, Lord Grant, is an explorer lauded as a hero and adventurer. He scorns the Ton and wants no family ties. Until his best friend bequeaths to him joint care of his illegitimate child…

Joanna and Alex disagree from the moment they first meet, so how are they ever to stay civil long enough to join forces and rescue the orphaned baby girl? Saving Nina takes them from the celebrity salons and balls of Regency London to the frozen wastes of the North Pole and tests both of them - and their emotions - to the very limit. For what will happen when their bitter hostility turns to an equally passionate desire?

Beware of scandalous women...

Giveaway closes at some point during 27 December 2011. Winner will be chosen at random and contacted and with a bit of luck, has responded with some form of contact details so I can send it when the post office opens again on the 28th.

Remember, I need to be able to contact you and get your postal address if you win, so if you're not on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter or any other way of getting in touch, it will be hard to let you know you've won, and so on, so in order to be in with a chance of winning, add some kind of contact details and answer the following qualifying question: In the book, the characters travel to Spitsbergen in Norway. Where is the furthest North you've ever been?

This giveaway is open worldwide.

Good luck! Santa's bag re-opens again tomorrow. :)

  1. Hum. I've been a lot further South (New Zealand) than I have North (northern Montana here in the US, Scotland over all.) Not very exciting, I know.

  2. Sounds like a really interesting book.
I have been to Averøy in Norway (where my father in law lives).

  3. Oh, I so love Norway, and the furthest I have been is Tromsø, and I spent wonderful 4 weeks there ;)

  4. You definitely win the having been "furthest north"! :) It's way further north than the Swedish border, and somewhere in the north of Sweden would be the furthest north I've ever been. Not exactly sure where, though. Know I've been to Östersund, but possibly higher up than that. Would've been when I was quite young, which is why I can't remember.

  5. I'd like to go to Berlin some day too. :)

  6. Not very exciting? The closest I've ever been to Montana is seeing a few minutes of Hannah Montana on TV! ;) The furthest north I've been in Scotland is the shire of Dumfries & Galloway ... which is kind of bordering England, so not very far up either. And New Zealand - I would LOVE to go there! Seriously, wow, that would be amazing! As I'm sure rural Montana would be too. :)

  7. Probably more the sort of latitude I'm familiar with, even if my trips to Norway have all been just passing through and shouldn't even really count!

  8. This is a tough one. It's a toss up between the top of British Columbia and the top of Scotland. Have to go look at a map. Just looked. I'm going to go with Canada.
