Xmas Giveaway, Day 1: Item 1

Item 1 in the Christmas Giveaway is a souvenir leather bookmark. I've picked up a few different ones this autumn, because bookmarks are useful things. Please specify which one you'd like if you win, because I have a few to choose from.

The options are:
  1. Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, Leicestershire (green), where Richard III met his sticky end.
  2. Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (light purple), where films like The Duchess and Pride & Prejudice '05 were made.
  3. Nottingham Castle, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire (red OR green, I bought two), because even though the castle as it stands today had nothing to do with Robin Hood or Prince John, it's still Nottingham Castle!
  4. Shakespeare's Birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire (purple), because whether 'tis nobler for the reader to forget where she last read up to or to ... whatever.

They're all made of the same kind of thing, and I'm not sure if the leather is real or not, but it's likely that it is (smells like it, so it's at least partially real), so they're not vegan friendly, so to speak. All of the bookmarks are embossed rather than printed, and are most likely made by the same manufacturer as they all have the same sort of feel to them. Except the Nottingham ones, which are thinner and have a gold print and made by someone completely different. Probably.

It's not a lot, but you might be able to fool someone into believing you've been there, or at least pretend it yourself. Whatever you like. :)

Giveaway closes at some point during 27 December 2011. Winner will be chosen at random and contacted and with a bit of luck, has responded with some form of contact details so I can send it when the post office opens again on the 28th.

Remember, I need to be able to contact you and get your postal address if you win, so if you're not on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter or any other way of getting in touch, it will be hard to let you know you've won, and so on, so in order to be in with a chance of winning, add some kind of contact details and answer the following qualifying question: What's the oddest thing you've ever used as a bookmark?

This giveaway is open worldwide.

Good luck! I'll be back in a few hours with today's SECOND item! :)

  1. The oddest thing I've ever used as a bookmark was a mini Moon Pie (chocolate outside, marshmallow/graham cracker inside - like a s'more but round). Fortunately it was still in the wrapper, and even though it got a little smushed while keeping my place it was still yummy afterwards.

I would LOVE a Nottingham Castle bookmark ~ I know that won't surprise you....

  2. Oddest thing I've ever used...another book. A very slim one. And I'm trying to decide between Chatsworth and Nottingham, since I love both of them so very much.

  4. If Nottingham, which colour? :)

I've also used a book before. Hmm, I wonder what my craziest thing is ...

I almost never have bookmarks around so I use whatever is handy like a pen, a piece of paper, I have also done the other book thing (very handy if you are reading two books, you can use them on eachother) or clothes like a sock, aslo very handy in a pinch. The oddest thing I have used must be a hammer. It was there and it worked very well.
If I win I want the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre one. It's greeeeen! :look I would have said the purple one but I already have one with that design :D

  6. Same thing here! I normally end up with Amazon receipts, for some reason. Heh.

And yes you do, a PINK one! :D

  8. Had lots of odd things : other book, dog's collar, food, clothes, etc.
I'd like Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (light purple), where films like The Duchess and Pride & Prejudice '05 were made.
