The Squeee

There are fans of someone, and then there are the so-called "Beliebers" (*gag*), who are so obnoxious on there that Twitter seems to have banned "Justin Bieber" from trending. Ways around it? Certainly. Weapon of choice at the moment is "Derek Bieber". Guessing Derek is the poor lad's middle name or something, but to be honest, I don't care. Aww, he wuvs his fans! ...I think I need to puke.

Tonight, in an hour, the UK will pass from 2010 to 2011. Almost half the world is already there, in fact! I hope 2010 has treated you well, and even if it hasn't, I hope 2011 will be (even) better. :) Here's a quick re-cap of the year of The Squeee . The Squeee in 2010 - A year of unabashed fangirling January opened with the All About the Brontës Challenge , where I set to work straight away, listening to some old radio plays of Jane Eyre , watched the 1996 film adaptation of the same and finished reading Wuthering Heights for the very first time. I also wrote about my visit to Haddon Hall the year before, and had ideas on how you might be able to make sports interesting , because let's face it, it's not exactly all that interesting. I also discovered I was Marianne Dashwood , even though I don't really play the piano. February announced the first International Magic Day , the blog got itself a makeover, and we were being spoiled rotten by Mr. Armitage n

As I posted the Twilight Saga: New Moon review earlier today, I thought "hey, let's have a poll about it" - so what'll it be? Team Jacob or Team Sparkles? Or, perhaps Team Bella if you can't decide. ... Or there's always the other option ... There's always the other option. Especially regarding this. And no, I refuse to call Sparkles by his real first name, because Stephanie Meyer nicked it off Charlotte Brontë and there is only ONE man who can live up to that name and Mr. Cullen, it ain't you. I'm Team Rochester all the way!

So, the golden popcorn have been delivered... and like I predicted last month , Twilight won everything they were nominated in. Crud. We'll get to that in a bit. Christina Aguilera's performance, with the cogs in the background, would've been so much more interesting if she had been dressed up in a Steampunk style. I have no idea who the presenter was. But he was kinda funny. At least this year, we were spared Brüno going down on Eminem... ugh. (Or was that a different MTV awards show?) There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, especially the movie parody clip things. They're normally funny. Much to our delight, the studio boss Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder made several appearances. Including dancing with J-Lo. I didn't know Tom Cruise could move! His lady wife in the audience seemed to enjoy him more dressed up as Les gettin' jiggy wif it rather than when he was presenting an award with Cameron Diaz. Well, "Les is more" as a newspaper h

I came across something somewhere yesterday that mentioned the MTV Movie Awards, so I had a look on the website. I signed up to MTV.com to vote a previous year. Last year, was it? Don't remember. This year looks like it's going to be the same. PLEASE can they not just finish making those Twilight movies soon so we can be rid of them once and for all and get voting for something decent?! Last time, the one that annoys me greatly, was the time when the first Twilight movie had come out, and it was nominated in a bunch of categories, of which it won most of them. It was a shambles! I mean, Best Male Performance. Christian Bale was nominated, and I quite like him. Robert Downey Jr was nominated, and he's a superb actor - and I'm not just saying it because he's ridiculously swoonworthy as well - but as in, as an actor, he's freakin' AWESOME! And who won? Zac Efron! Are you KIDDING ME?! Best Villain - now, I approve of that. Heath Ledger won for playing the
