The X-Files sequel? Frank Spotnitz wants one!

From Screen Daily through Dread Central , we learn that Frank Spotnitz would love to see more of The X-Files . Wouldn't we all? Well, okay, I would! Quoth the man: There is a very active and relentless fan campaign for a last movie. I do feel like it would be a terrible shame if that didn’t happen. It feels wrong not to give it an ending around the alien colonisation of earth. David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson] feel the same. I have a clear idea of how it would go and I’ve been talking to Chris Carter about it for a long time. I’ll keep banging the drum whenever I meet the Fox guys. Apparently, Fox still holds the rights to any sequels, but as the last movie didn't do very well, they're ... reluctant, shall we say? I actually really enjoyed the film, and the main criticism of it ("it's not about the aliens, it's like a normal episode!") is exactly why I enjoyed it. So there!

The Bad Guys List

This is a general hommage to my favourite baddies from films and TV! :D The deliciously malicious people who you might love to hate, or hate to love... or just outright fancy. Whatever floats your boat. Most, if not all, of my favourite baddies are either Magnificent Bastards or Smug Snakes according to the TV Tropes Wiki. The two personality types being quite similar. What would Freud say? If I could make out in which order I prefer them, I would list them like that, but since I can't, I'll just go with an A-Z. So to speak. The links are to YouTube clips for the most part. Last revised: 3 June 2011.

Warehouse 13

These days, I'm a little bit cautious when it comes to new TV shows, just because I know I have a tendency to go a little overboard with them if I happen to like them. I was trying to not get sucked in by Stargate: Atlantis , but it was a good show, with some very attractive casting. There have been a number of new shows out that I've sampled, and the only one I'm currently setting reminders for to watch is Warehouse 13 . Last year, or if it was earlier this year, Fringe started showing on Sky1. Fringe was hailed as a new X-Files , and being about an FBI agent looking into the paranormal... well, you have my attention! The problem with Fringe is that it's sort of trying to be X-Files without actually being X-Files , so it's a bit disappointing. Not a bad show, it's just that... it's not Mulder and Scully. Series 2 starts off with Luke Goss as a guest star, however... so I'll give it another chance. (Oh yeah, there'll be a post aaaaall about that ...

Spotlight Squees: The X-Files

Today is the UK opening of The X-Files: I Want To Believe , so it's quite fitting for today's topic to be that of Mulder and Scully. Also, it'll be the first installment of fictional characters. Who are these people? Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are two FBI agents on a TV show called "The X-Files" (1993-2002). Mulder's the person who believes in all kinds of paranormal things, Scully's the sceptic who is sent in to debunk his work. If you don't already know who they are, go watch the show. How did I find these people? I saw a trailer on TV4 once upon a time. I thought it sounded like a great show, and one of the episodes was on at 8pm instead of 9:10pm, so I was allowed to stay up and watch it. This would've been "Squeeze" (1X02). I wasn't allowed to be up and watch the other episodes, as I was supposed to be in bed, but my sister taped them for me, so that I could watch them the next day when I...

We can believe again!

The second X-Files movie! ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443701/ ) I can't wait! Mulder and Scully back on the screens! X-Files! X-Files! X-Files! :D :D :D July 25 is when it comes out in the US, but we have to wait for 1 August for it to come to both the UK and Sweden. But what's a few days after six years of waiting anyway? Nothing! So sue me. It's one of my all-time favourite TV-shows. I remember when the final double episode was going to be aired. I was living in BĂ„stad at the time, and had classmates who were trying to talk me into going with them to Pepe's Bodega (a nightclub) on a Saturday night. My response was along the lines of "Not on your life! It's the final X-Files episode ever!!" It was a semi-accepted response, actually. It seemed more valid then "no, I find nightclubs incredibly noisy and awful and I'd rather watch paint dry". Funny that. I remember when "Fight The Future" premiered. Saw it on the opening night...
