Are you sure you weren't separated at birth?

Image
There are some people that you see on TV, and then you see someone that looks just like them. Except unlike the topic of yesterday's post, they're the other gender. And they're not even related. Ever had that? There's one I've been thinking about for a while, and while looking for photos in order to make this image, found that Google Images actually suggested I search for the two of them together. For anyone in the UK, it's rather obvious: John Sergeant and Jo Brand , of course! Jo Brand & John Sergeant. Or is it the other way around? Brand is a very deadpan, snarky, and - in my humble opinion - hilarious comedian. Sergeant is a journalist or something? These days he's on The One Show and has danced (badly) in Strictly Come Dancing . Could be twins! Don't know the age difference between the two, but gosh, they do look very similar. Another one I didn't think of until today, when I watched The Prestige . I saw the judge and thought &quo

News roundup: Who's number 3 at the UK box office?

In the news today: The most recent adaptation of Jane Eyre was number three in the UK box office during its opening weekend. Well done! I think it was really well done considering out of the four cinemas in Nottingham (that I know of, anyway), only one is actually showing it - Showcase. Broadway will be showing it, but not until the end of the month. If that's the case here, what's it like in other parts of the country? #3 is well done! :) Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Johnson are billed to star in next year's adaptation of Anna Karenina . Haven't we known about Keira Knightley playing Anna Karenina for months now? Jude Law is to be Karenin and Johnson Vronsky. Speaking of adaptations, Joanna Trollope is apparently set to write a modern day re-make of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility . It's set to publish late 2013 and is a part of HarperFiction's attempts at giving all the Austen novels an update. I'm just slightly puzzled as to why this

Jane Eyre '11 - release dates - not good news

Image
BrontëBlog are reporting some very much awaited release dates for Jane Eyre 2011. Here's me thinking merrily that it'll have a release 11 March, or at least thereabouts. Wrong! In chronological order: 11 March 2011 - USA (limited) 7 April 2011 - Australia 14 April 2011 - Germany 9 June 2011 - The Netherlands 9 September 2011 - UK 23 September 2011 - Spain September 2011 - Denmark

Jane Eyre '11 - poster AND trailer, double squeeee!!!

Image
One is now ridiculously, deleriously happy. First, yesterday, the movie poster, but I was too caught up with other things (*cough* NaNoWriMo, basically *cough*) to have time to post. Now, the actual TRAILER for the upcoming Jane Eyre (2011) movie adaptation! Thanks to Ruth and Charleybrown for the heads up. I love you guys. You've made my day, week AND month, all at the same time. Thank you thank you thank you!!! How come all Jane Eyres have the same hair style?

Jane Eyre premiering in Venice - bogus?

Image
I thought the new adaptation of Jane Eyre was going to premiere at the Venice Film Festival now in September, but after scanning the films on show and the schedules, I can't find it. So I believe rumours of the film showing up in broad daylight at this year's Venice Film Festival have been greatly exaggerated. We still have to wait until March of next year ... *sigh* The only thing to whet our appetites so far have been a few tweets from NY Times (?) Catherine Mayer (@catherine_mayer), namely these: Watched the rough cut of forthcoming Jane Eyre movie. I think Mr Rochester will do for Michael Fassbender what Mr Darcy did for Colin Firth Hoho wow , is all I have to say, in a Father Dougal type way. Splendid, can't wait!

News of upcoming Jane Eyre adaptation

Image
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I knew they were making a new Jane Eyre adaptation, and it's been known for some time that Ellen Page ( Juno ) had been cast as Jane. No word on Rochester. Also, there was no info on IMDb, unless you had a pro account, as it was in pre-production. Apparently, there are developments!
