Countdown to Harry Potter 7:2 - Giveaway!
While we're busy waiting for the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, I thought it would be fun to have a little giveaway. I've never done one before on this blog, and it won't be the last one. So it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
The Prize
It's a Harry Potter theme and seeing as how I make wands as a hobby ... it's a wand!
Wood, decoration, length and diametre is up to you. You can pick which ever one you prefer (except the alder ones with beaded handles) from the Thornfield Handcrafted Wands shop, and I'll send to you if you're the lucky winner. :)
All wands are all hand-made (cut, carved, sanded, decorated and oiled) from 100% solid wood, sourced from Nottingham (West Bridgford), Derby (Wilmorton) or Sweden (Bohuslän/Västra Götaland).
The Small Print
This giveaway is open worldwide, EXCEPT for Australia and New Zealand. I know there's lots of Potter love Down Under too, but your strict import laws makes it impossible to ship wood products there, unfortunately. Sorry! :( Any potential import duties, taxes, customs charges and so on incurred are to be paid by the winner. (Won't apply within the EU and as far as I'm aware won't apply anywhere else either, but just in case.) The winner will be chosen through a random number generator.
How to Enter
Enter by commenting on this post answering the following question: Which ONE spell from Harry Potter would you most like to be able to perform and why?

Giveaway closes on 7 July 2011. Winner will be chosen and contacted and with a bit of luck, has responded with an address so I can send the wand on 8th or 9th, hopefully in time for the premiere on the 15th.
Remember, I need to be able to contact you and get your postal address if you win, so if you're not on Facebook, Etsy, Twitter or any other way of getting in touch, it will be hard to let you know you've won, and so on.
Good luck! :)

That's right, you can Accio one of these! (Not necessarily this particular one, it's just to give you an idea.) |

I would like to being able to perform the imperio curse. In my opinion it's the most powerful spell. You can do both good and bad. With the killing curse you can only kill people. Of course I would to my best to bring world peace and end starvation. ;)
ReplyDeleteI would like to be able to perform the Patronus charm. First of all I would REALLY like to know what animal it takes the form of (I'm hoping it's an owl), and it would also be really cool to have a little guardian of happiness to protect me :)

Maybe it's a bit boring, but I have to say Accio. The thing is that I loose things all the time and I would save so much time if I just could pick up my wand, say 'Accio!' and then just catch my keys, book, pen, or whatever I need. It just would be so extremely useful and I actually miss that spell every day.
ReplyDeleteIt would really be rude but Crucio.I would like to cast that spell to those people who hurt me so that they would feel the pain I endured. Also I want to give them their own dose of medicine.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with Accio on this one. Sometimes I can be really lazy and it's very useful when I can't find something.
