Mia Wasikowska as Jane Eyre - first picture!

Behold! :D First picture* from the forthcoming Jane Eyre adaptation, starring Mia Wasikowska. Now I just want to see a picture of Rochester '11... and preferably one with both of them. Nice bonnet, good "quakerish governess" dress, brooding landscape... So far so good!

* Picture by Laurie Sparham, from article in The Times, found through BrontëBlog and re-posted, so to speak.

  1. I saw that earlier today too. I agree, I like the dark landscape and spooky trees. Can't wait to catch a glimpse of Mr. R!!!

  3. Great pic! When I heard about a new JE, I thought, "Nobody can beat the TS version!" but seeing this pic and knowing who the leading actors are, I will definitely give it a chance. I'm willing to give any period drama a try and that photo definitely has me interested.

  4. Wow, this looks like it may actually be good! Perhaps Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson really did make it clear to anyone making a Jane Eyre adaption that they had to step it up.
