News roundup: Who's number 3 at the UK box office?

In the news today: The most recent adaptation of Jane Eyre was number three in the UK box office during its opening weekend. Well done! I think it was really well done considering out of the four cinemas in Nottingham (that I know of, anyway), only one is actually showing it - Showcase. Broadway will be showing it, but not until the end of the month. If that's the case here, what's it like in other parts of the country? #3 is well done! :) Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Johnson are billed to star in next year's adaptation of Anna Karenina . Haven't we known about Keira Knightley playing Anna Karenina for months now? Jude Law is to be Karenin and Johnson Vronsky. Speaking of adaptations, Joanna Trollope is apparently set to write a modern day re-make of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility . It's set to publish late 2013 and is a part of HarperFiction's attempts at giving all the Austen novels an update. I'm just slightly puzzled as to why this

Sam Neill films - minute reviews A-D

Aside from celebrating Sam Neill's birthday, I'm also trying to get rid of my old wiki site in favour of a different style of website, which means I'm trying to migrate things, but this, I believe, is better off here than on the new site. :) Very short reviews of various films that have Sam Neill as a common denominator! Can't for the life of me remember when they were written, but it wasn't exactly yesterday, I know that much. :) A Cry in the Dark (1988) Sam is: Michael Chamberlain "The dingo stole my baby!" Based on a true story, it's Meryl Streep as a woman whose youngest child, a baby, is taken by a dingo when the family's on vacation at Uluru. Sam's the dad. Big trial, a country torn in two - "guilty" and "not guilty". Very good movie, and good from the point of how vulture-like journalists are. Has two or three people from The Flying Doctors in it, which is always a nice bonus for, umm, me. Bicentennial Man (19

May the 4th be with you!

May the 4th... "May the Force"... Because of that play on words, this particular date has been known as Star Wars Day by various pun-loving Jedi-wannabes from here to Naboo. I like Star Wars , and like most people, I prefer the original films, where Yoda was a puppet and not an animation. Where Darth Vader had that James Earl Jones voice and put heavy breathers everywhere to shame. I even like the Ewoks! So there! Now, as you might know, an actor a lot of us love and are very devoted to was in one of those new films. He's known to have tried hitting on Keira Knightley in the process (although I personally don't see why anyone would want to - although, to be fair, didn't he mistake her for Natalie Portman?) - so let's recap with a picture of what at least looks to be the most dashing fighter pilot in the galaxy: Mr. Richard Armitage! "So ... d'you come here often?" A more detailed discussion on exactly where you can probably see Richard Armi
